Give Claude secure access to your server's terminal
Claude can work on a real server through a remote MCP server. With WECOMMANDER the server needs no open port, Claude gets no shell account, and you approve each command.
Steps
- On the server: curl -fsSL https://wecommander.app/install.sh | sh (Windows: irm https://wecommander.app/install.ps1 | iex).
- Approve the device in the browser and choose the folder Claude may use, for example /srv/app.
- In Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → https://wecommander.app/mcp → Connect.
- Ask Claude, for example: “Check disk usage on my server and show the largest folders in /srv/app.”
- Approve the command when the request appears; Claude gets the output and continues.
Why not just give Claude SSH?
SSH gives a full shell account and needs an open port and keys. Here the agent connects out, stays inside the allowed folder, masks secrets in output, and every command needs your approval for exactly that command.
